Consultation

Before undergoing surgery meeting with your surgical team is vital. A consultation not only provides the information you need to make informed decisions about your health, but offers the face-to-face engagement with your doctor necessary to develop your level of comfort with the individual who will be working on you, as well as their support staff.

Consider your initial consultation to be an interview with our team here at Oregon Advanced Surgery: just as we want to meet and get to know you, you want to meet and get to know us.

What We Cover During an Initial Consultation
Our in-person consultation consists of an overview of minimally-invasive surgery, and all that the process entails. We’ll cover, from start-to-finish, the following:

  • Explain minimally-invasive surgery
  • How to prepare for your specific type of surgery, whether it is colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, or another kind.
  • Pre-and-post-op procedures, preparations, and your needs.
  • Your concerns

Our goal is to help you feel as comfortable as possible with your surgical decision. Part of providing a sense of security is getting to know your surgical team, understanding each phase of surgical prep, recovery, and the surgery itself, as well as being able to ask questions. Our consultations enable you to accomplish all of this, and more.

What Is Minimally-Invasive Surgery?

Minimally-invasive surgery is a procedure in which surgeons make several small incisions in the skin, insert a miniature camera through one of these incisions, and conduct a surgical procedure using robotic hands and surgical instruments, guided by surgeons working outside the body who view each action via video interface.

Minimally-invasive surgery offers patients a refined, efficient, and incredibly precise procedure, often generating fewer complications, less bleeding, less scarring, and a quicker recovery time.

Having all of your questions answered and obtaining detailed information can help put you at ease. If you’re interested in obtaining minimally-invasive surgery for your colonoscopy or upper endoscopy, call us today so we can schedule a free consultation. We look forward to meeting you!
